Dr Eric Oduro Osae Bows Out as Internal Audit Agency Director-General
Dr Eric Oduro Osae has officially stepped down as Director-General of the Internal Audit Agency (IAA), bringing his tenure at the institution to a close.
Dr Osae in a statement expressed his appreciation to stakeholders across Ghana’s governance and public finance sectors for their cooperation and support during his time in office.
“I want to use this opportunity to thank all of you for the support, advice, and the opportunity to be of service to God and country,” he stated.
A recognised expert in governance and public financial management, Dr Osae is credited with strengthening the country’s internal audit framework and driving reforms aimed at improving transparency, accountability, and efficiency in the management of public funds.
Under his leadership, the IAA intensified oversight of internal audit functions within Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs), and worked to embed a culture of compliance and fiscal discipline across the public sector.
His exit marks the end of a significant chapter in Ghana’s efforts to institutionalise robust internal controls and enhance public sector governance.
While the agency has yet to announce a successor, stakeholders have commended Dr Osae’s contribution to Ghana’s public financial management architecture and called for the continuation of the reform agenda initiated during his tenure.
