Mfantsipim Old Boys Association 2004 Class launch Trust Fund aiming to raise GHS 2 million

In a resolute move to honour their alma mater, the 2004 Class of the Mfantsipim Old Boys Association (MOBA) has embarked on a noble endeavor by unveiling a Trust Fund with the ambitious target of amassing GHS 2 million ($200,000).

The Fund, as conveyed by Samuel Kissiedu, the esteemed President of the 2004 year group, seeks to finance significant events such as the forthcoming 2024 Speech and Prize Giving Day, as well as the commemoration of the school’s 148th Anniversary in 2034, an initiative that underscores the deep-rooted sense of gratitude towards the institution that has indelibly shaped their lives.

Moreover, it will be instrumental in addressing crucial health and welfare needs of the 2004 year group.

During the grand inauguration of the Trust Fund, Mr. Kissiedu ardently emphasized the compelling obligation of the 2004 year group to give back generously to the institution that has been an architect of their success.

He aptly cited exemplary ventures undertaken by their cohort, including the restoration of the revered “Faithful Eight” torch and the refurbishment of the school’s dispensary. Such endeavors exemplify their unwavering commitment to preserving the legacy of Mfantsipim School and fostering an enduring culture of benevolence.

In pursuit of their laudable mission, the Trust Fund commenced with a commendable seed fund totaling GHS 250,000. Out of this amount, a GHS 100,000 cheque was presented, with the remaining GHS 150,000 comprising pledges from the 2004 year group members.

The custodianship of this pivotal Trust Fund falls upon the capable shoulders of a meticulously selected 14-member Trustee Board, each a distinguished alumnus of Mfantsipim School.

This prudent appointment ensures a judicious and efficient operationalization of the Fund, safeguarding its integrity and fostering transparency in its dispensation.

Beyond its financial significance, the launch event served as an enchanting juncture for the illustrious 2004 year class to bask in the warmth of nostalgia and camaraderie. After 19 years of completing their academic journey, this cherished gathering rekindled cherished memories and strengthened the bonds forged within the hallowed halls of Mfantsipim School.

As this laudable initiative unfolds, the Trust Fund spearheaded by the 2004 year group, now sets forth on a path to leave an indelible mark on the revered institution that once molded their minds and spirits.
