E-commerce Ghana moves to certify online service providers with trust marks
Executive Director at the Association of E-commerce Ghana, Paul Asinor, has disclosed that his outfit has begun moves to certify all online service providers and businesses with the appropriate trust marks.
The move by E-commerce Ghana follows numerous reports by online service providers on the negative impact the activities of online fraudsters and scammers is having on their businesses.
He noted that this move will help sanitise the online business space and do away with online scammers duping online shoppers.
Mr. Asinor explained that these trust marks are expected to indicate whether a particular online site is credible to transact business or otherwise.

“We are working hard for the introduction of a trust mark for all registered and certified online businesses and shops operating in the country to serve as a seal of trust when you go shopping online.
“This will serve as a seal of trust when you go shopping online,” he said.
According to organisers of the award AIDEC Consultancies, the event under the theme, “Information Technology and the Way Forward for Africa under the Fourth Industrial Revolution”, is to challenge and motivate tech companies driving digital solutions to make Africa stay competitive, especially under the era of the Africa Continental Free Trade Agreement (AfCFTA).
