Ghana Gas Announces 17-Day Planned Maintenance Shutdown of Gas Processing Plant and Offshore Export Facilities
Ghana National Gas Company Limited (Ghana Gas) has announced a scheduled maintenance shutdown of its Gas Processing Plant (GPP) and offshore gas export facilities, set to take place from August 1 to August 17.
The maintenance is part of the company’s strategy to ensure the safety, efficiency, and reliability of its operations.
The planned shutdown underscores Ghana Gas’s commitment to maintaining high operational standards and preempting unexpected disruptions.
During the maintenance window, comprehensive inspections and critical upgrades will be conducted to the infrastructure, as highlighted in the company’s statement released on Wednesday.
Ernest Owusu Bempah, Head of Corporate Communications at Ghana Gas, emphasized that these measures are essential for identifying potential issues and implementing corrective actions to bolster the overall performance of the gas facilities.
Notably, during the maintenance period, the Sankofa OCTP will provide a lean gas supply to the Takoradi Distribution Station (TDS). Ghana Gas has assured stakeholders that efforts will be made to complete the maintenance within the stipulated timeframe to minimize any disruption to gas supply.
In a bid to mitigate the impact of the shutdown on the energy sector and the general public, Ghana Gas has coordinated closely with its partners and stakeholders.
While the company acknowledges the inconvenience caused by the maintenance shutdown, it emphasizes that this temporary disruption is vital for ensuring a safe and reliable gas supply in the long term.
