Staff of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), are demanding for the immediate dismissal of the company’s Managing Director (MD), Kwame Agyeman-Budu.
Calls for the dismissal of Mr Agyeman-Budu follows his alleged mismanagement of the power distribution company.
According to the agitated staff, Mr Agyeman-Budu’s deficiency in matters relating to administrative and corporate governance will eventually result in the collapse of the company if he is allowed to continue as the company’s MD.
The decision to have Mr Agyeman-Budu dismissed the staff notes, was taken at a joint National Executive Committee meeting.
In a statement, the staff accused the Managing Director of breaching procurement processes as well as failing to file mobilised revenues since last despite several petitions addressed to his office to do so.
Adding Mr Agyemang-Budu, over his working period as ECG’s MD, has had poor working relationship with top management and does not take advice from his technical deputies perpetuating a culture of silence amongst top management members.
The staff are demanding for appropriate actions to be taken by Friday, April 23, or will resort to picketing.
