EGL, MTN and Total register gains on the local bourse

Share prices of Enterprise Group Limited (EGL), Scancom PLC (MTNGH) and Total Energies Ghana (TOTAL) recorded marginal gains on the stock market at the end of trading session on Monday.

The three equities gained GH¢0.10 pesewas, GH¢0.02 pesewas and GH¢0.03 pesewas respectively. 

The recorded gains in the share prices of the three equities resulted in the benchmark GSE Composite Index (GSE-CI) gaining 25.45 points to close trading at 2,703.33 and translating into a YTD return of 39.23%.

Also, the GSE Financial Stock Index (GSE-FSI) appreciated by 2.97 points to close at 2,008.97 points translating into a YTD return of 12.69%.

Market capitalization of the local bourse on the back of the gains recorded in the benchmark indices – GSE-CI and GSE-FSI – increased by GH¢ 266.25 million to close  trading at GH¢62.58 billion representing a YTD growth of 15.09% in 2021.

At the end of Monday’s trading session, a total of 8,538,108 shares valued at GH¢11,382,769.56 were traded with MTNGH recording the lion’s share of trades as it accounted for 82.9% of the total value traded.

Total equity traded on Monday compares favourably to the 1,959,111 shares valued at Ghs 4,650,696.52 traded last Friday, September 24, 2021.
