The Egyptian Stock Exchange’s (EGX) indices witnessed a negative performance on April 5.
The benchmark index EGX 30 decreased 1.54% to close at 10,256.92 points.
The small and medium-sized enterprises index EGX 70 went down 6.27% to close at 1.868.52 points, while the broader index EGX 100 closed at 2,783.33 points, marking a decrease of 4.94%.
Trading volume reached 882 million shares executed through 40,487 transactions, with a total value of EGP 2.929 billion. Market capitalization amounted to EGP 635.493 billion.
Egyptian investors made up 36.46% of total transactions, while foreign and Arab investors accounted for 52.37 % and 11.17%, respectively.
Individuals represented 29.29% of total trades, while institutions contributed to 70.70%.
The top five performers by trading volume were Orascom Financial Holding, Dice Sport, Orascom Investment Holding, Lift Slab Misr, and Atlas for Investment.
