Egypt’s Damietta liquefied natural gas (LNG) facility on March 21, shipped its first cargo to Europe.
The LNG arrived at the Belgian import terminal at Zeebrugge, according to a report by S&P Global Platts.
Since resumed operations in late February, three shipments have so far been sent with the first cargo loaded and delivered to Bangladesh on February 22nd aboard the Golar Glacier.
The second cargo was loaded on March 4, aboard the Energy Atlantic, which is currently south of Taiwan and headed for the Incheon import terminal in South Korea.
Earlier this month, the Egyptian petroleum ministry announced a series of agreements to settle all claims over the Damietta LNG plant.
The announcement followed plans by Italian energy firm Eni, to restart the LNG facility.
