Emirates Airlines resumes passenger services to and from Accra
A communique intercepted by NorvanReports indicate that Dubai-based airline, Emirates Airlines, starting today, Thursday, January 13, 2022, will resume its Dubai-Accra-Dubai flights.
NorvanReports earlier reported that, the Dubai-based airline was to resume flights this week, after two weeks of temporary flight suspension, as part of a raft of measures by the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to contain the spread of Omicron variant of COVID-19.
As also reported earlier, the planned resumption of flights was accompanied by new travel protocols that passengers must adhere to.
Per the new travel protocols, passengers must;
- Present a negative COVID-19 PCR test certificate with a QR code for a test conducted at an approved facility within 48 hours of departure. Validity must be calculated from the time the sample was collected.
- Must present a negative COVID-19 Rapid or Real Time PCR test certificate with a QR code for a test conducted at the departure airport within 06 hours of departure.
- Must undergo COVID-19 PCR test on arrival in Dubai and must remain in self-quarantine until they receive the test result.
- ONLY the original stamped and signed hard copy of COVID-19 PCR & Rapid PCR test certificate with a QR code from the below approved laboratories will be accepted for travel.
- All PCR Tests will be validated through the Trusted Travel/PanaBios Platform.

We pleased to announce that, effective 13th January, 2022, Emirates will resume passenger services to and from Accra, Ghana.
Customers travelling to or transiting through Dubai are required to meet the following travel protocols:
Must present a negative COVID-19 PCR test certificate with a QR code for a test conducted at an approved facility within 48 hours of departure. Validity must be calculated from the time the sample was collected.

The 48 Hour PCR test must be taken any time after 19h00hrs, 2 days before flight departure. The original hard copy signed and stamped certificate with a QR code is required for 6 Hour Rapid PCR Test.

Please Note:
Travellers are required to report for the 6 hour Rapid PCR test at the above 2 approved Laboratories from 11h00 – last samples will be taken at 15h00, thereafter once certificate is obtained travellers must report to check-in.
Travellers must have all luggage to proceed directly to the check-in counters.

Emirates Airlines extended the initial 48-hours ban for flights from Accra to Dubai indefinitely on December 28, 2021.
“Emirates flight suspension from Accra to Dubai effective December 27, 2021 is now extended until further notice,” the airline said in its urgent broadcast sent to trade partners on Tuesday December 28, 2021.
