First Deputy Governor of the Central Bank, Dr Maxwell Opoku-Afari, has applauded wholly-Ghanaian-owned financial technology company (FinTech), IT Consortium for the creation of the Ghana.Gov.gh platform.

Delivering a speech at the launch of the 20th Anniversary of the company, Dr Opoku-Afari, noted the company’s contributions towards the conceptualisation, designing and implementation of the platform which is at the core of the digital economy being propagated by government, is laudable and demonstrates the firm’s fidelity to the digital transformation agenda of the Ghanaian economy.

The ghana.gov.gh platform is an e-services revenue generation portal, that allows for the filing of tax returns, payment of customs duties and other levies conveniently to the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA).

The ghana.gov.gh platform provides a single point of access for all services of ministries, departments and agencies of government.

It also allows, electronically, access to Tax Clearance Certificate (e-TCC) as well as Withholding Tax Credit Certificate (e-Tax Credit) and VAT Withholding Tax Credit Certificate (e-VAT Credit).

Speaking further at the anniversary launch, the First Deputy Governor, urged IT Consortium as a pacesetter in the country’s emerging FinTech industry, to be a shining example and a beacon of hope to the many up-and-coming Ghanaian youth desirous of making a career in the FinTech industry.
