Five top traded equities on the GSE for last week

Equities of MTN, SIC, Ecobank Transnational International (ETI), Société Generale [SOGEGH] and GOIL emerged the top five (5) traded stocks on the Ghana Stock Market at the close of trading last week.

Total volume traded on the GSE last week was 10.98 million shares valued at GHS 10.98 million traded during the week compared to 2.06 million shares valued at GHS 1.74 million which traded the previous week.

The GSE’s market capitalization marginally decreased by GHS 7.09 million to close the trading week at GHS 64.04 billion.

MTN closed the week as the most traded stock accounting for 98.54% of total value traded with a traded value of GHS 10.8 million. Total volume traded of the stock at the end of the week also amounted to 10,823,181.

SIC, ETI and SOGEGH recorded total volume and value traded of 49,632 and GHS 12,904; 45,527 and GHS 9,105; 23,784 and GHS 28,314 respectively.

GOIL which was the fifth most traded stock recorded volume and value trade of 18,516 and GHS 33,699 respectively.

Meanwhile, market activity for the week decreased by 0.68 points to close at  2,696.67 translating into a YTD return of -3.32%.

The GSE Financial  Stock Index (GSE-FSI) on the other hand decreased by 1.23 points to  close the week at 2,219.66 translating into a YTD return of 3.15%.

In  the aggregate, twenty-one (21) equities participated in trading,  ending with no gainers but only one decliner namely Societe.
