Fixed Income market records 10% MoM decline in traded volume in April
The Fixed Income market, according to the GSE’s April 2024 Summary of Market Activities report, concluded the month of April with traded volumes of 11.34bn.
This is a 98.47% increase when compared to the 5.71 billion traded in the corresponding period last year.
The recorded 11.34bn traded volume for the month of April 2024, however, marks a decrease of 10.07% in traded volume when compared to the total traded volume recorded in March 2024.
On a year-to-date basis, the traded volume of 51.88bn is 70.27% higher than the 30.47bn traded volume recorded same period last year
The Long-term government debt securities contributed 30.10% to the overall market activity while short-term government instruments constituted 69.51% with corporate securities making up the remaining 0.39%.
