GSE-CI closes at 2,508 points on Wednesday

The benchmark index (GSE-Composite Index) of the Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE) gained 7.20 points to close trading at 2,508.99 points  representing a YTD return of -10.05%.

The GSE Financial Stock Index  (GSE-FSI) also gained 13.05 points to close trading at 2,079.94 points  translating into a YTD return of -3.34%. 

On Wednesday, nine (9) equities traded, ending with two (2) gainers. The best performers on the day were Ecobank Transnational Inc. (ETI) and NewGold (GLD). ETI gained GH¢0.01 to close at GH¢0.15 whilst GLD increased by GH¢9.00 to close at GH¢170.00.

Market capitalization of the GSE for the day settled at GH¢64.45 billion. 

A total of 1,214,405shares valued at GH¢292,528.96was traded on the day. Compared with the previous GSE trading day, August 30, 2022 today’s data shows a 43.58% decrease in volume traded as well as a 92.14% decrease in trade turnover.
