Results of the 2020 Presidential and Parliamentary as revealed by the Electoral Commission (EC) indicate the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) has so far secured a total number of 137 seats in Parliament.
The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has also been able to secure a total number of 137 seats in Parliament, creating what governance experts call a ‘hung parliament’ as there is no majority in the next Parliament.
Independent candidate and Member of Parliament-elect for the Fomena Constituency, Andrew Asiamah Amoako, is however believed to soon join the NPP to form a slim majority in Parliament.
