GFA Charges Dr. Paa Kwesi Nduom Over Alleged Misconduct Following Elmina Sharks Game
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has officially charged Dr. Paa Kwesi Nduom, the Chief Executive Officer of Elmina Sharks, in connection with an alleged attack on match officials during a Division One clash against Swedru All Blacks.
The match, held on February 16, 2025, at the Nduom Sports Complex, ended in a 1-0 loss for Elmina Sharks.
Post-match incidents escalated as players and officials from Elmina Sharks reportedly assaulted the referees, leading to heightened scrutiny of the club’s conduct.
The GFA’s charges against Dr. Nduom include violations of Articles 34(1)(a) and 34(1)(b) of the GFA Division One League Regulations, 2019, as well as breaches of the GFA Disciplinary Code.
The allegations specify that Dr. Nduom entered the inner perimeter and field of play without authorization to protest a penalty decision. He is also accused of inciting both players and officials against the match officials and using social media to further provoke fans and club members.
Dr. Nduom has been given until Wednesday, February 19, 2025, to respond to the charges.
This incident adds to the ongoing concerns about violence and misconduct in Ghanaian football, with calls for stricter enforcement of regulations to ensure the safety of players and officials.
