GFA Charges Ten Women’s Premier League Clubs for Pre-Match Interview Violations
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has taken action against ten clubs in the Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League for failing to conduct mandatory pre-match interviews with coaches and players. This breach of protocol has raised concerns about the integrity of the league.
The clubs involved—Police Ladies, Faith Ladies, Northern Ladies, Supreme Ladies, Kumasi Sports Academy Ladies, Prison Ladies, Jonina, Army Ladies, Hasaacas Ladies, and Halifax Queens—are accused of violating Article 34(6)(d) of the GFA Women’s Premier League Regulations, 2019, as well as the 2024/2025 Pre-Match Directives.
This violation came to light ahead of Matchday 17, with the GFA emphasizing that such misconduct brings the game into disrepute. The association has set a deadline for the clubs to respond to the charges by Tuesday, April 8, 2025.
The situation highlights the importance of maintaining standards within the league, as the GFA continues to promote professionalism and transparency in women’s football in Ghana.
