The Ghana card Personal Identification Number (Ghana card PIN), starting today, April 1, 2021, replaces the Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN) issued by the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) and held by individuals for tax identification purposes.
This is according to a joint press statement made by the GRA, Registrar-General’s Department (RGD) and the National Identification Authority (NIA).
The replacement of the TIN with the Ghana Card PIN, as noted by the three statutory bodies is in line with government’s policy on the use of a unique identifier for all transactions where the identification of an individual is required.
