Ghana drops one place in latest FIFA rankings
Ghana has dropped from 59th to 60th in the latest FIFA World Rankings released following the latest round of international matches played in March.
The Black Stars were engaged in a double header AFCON qualifying match with Angola as Chris Hughton kickstart his regime as new boss of the team.
Ghana beat Angola in Kumasi at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium via a late goal from Bournemouth striker Antione Semenyo and managed a 1-1 draw in Luanda at the Estadio de 11 Novembro.
Ghana is now 60th in the world and remain outside the top 10 in Africa as they lie 11th.
The Black Stars have a chance to qualify to the African Cup of Nations in Cote D’Ivoire next year, currently sitting at the summit of Group E with eight points, followed by Central African Republic with 7 points, Angola on third with 5, then Madagascar, rock bottom with a single point.
The Black Stars return to action for the remaining two qualifiers against Madagascar and Central African Republic in September.
