Ghana Premier League: Great Olympics share spoils with Hearts of Oak in Oseikrom
Salifu Ibrahim and Enoch Asubonteng missed sitters in the first half as Accra Great Olympics drew goalless with Accra Hearts of Oak in the Ga-Mashie derby on Friday.
Hearts of Oak were the better of the two sides in the opening half as they sold an exhilarating game at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
The Phobians who conceeded late to draw 1-1 with Nations FC were in search of only their second away win in the season. Salifu Ibrahim and Asubonteng fluffed two decent chances as the Phobians were left empty handed at the break.
Salifu was the first to come close but his effort graced the cross bar in the opening stages before Asubonteng missed from close range.
Chances were far and few after the interval as Hearts of Oak continued their dominance but failed to break the deadlock.
Accra Great Olympics looked very solid at back to frustrate their opponents but Hearts found way to break their backline only to waste the chances that came their way.
The result leaves Hearts of Oak in 10th place, while, Accra Great Olympics occupy the 11th spot.
