Ghana will soon dominate African football – GFA President
The President of the Ghana Football Association, Kurt Edwin Simeon Okraku, has promised that Ghana will dominate African football.
Speaking at a breakfast meeting with the visiting Confederation of African Football President, Patrice Motsepe, and other dignitaries, the GFA President was exuberant in his expectations for the country’s football teams.
“Very soon Ghana will be dominant on the African continent,” Mr Okraku said.
He explained that this was based on the performance of the U-20 side, the Black Starlets, who won the U20 African Cup of Nations earlier this year.
The Black Starlets won the U-20 African Championship on the day Ghana was celebrating their 64th Independence Day delivering the ultimate gift after a 2-0 win over debutants Uganda in the final in Nouakchott.

Skipper Daniel Afriyie led from the front, and had a military salute dance to celebrate on each occasion, as Ghana clinched the fourth Under-20 continental title and a first since their last conquest in 2009.
He then reminded the attendees that the success of the senior team, the Black Stars at the 2010 World Cup was based on investment in grassroots and juvenile football.
He concluded with the proclamation, “Ghana must always be at the apex of the sport.”
