Ghana’s Bibiani and Chirano gold mines forecast 20.7% production increase
Asante Gold Corporation, a Canadian-based mining company, has forecast a combined gold production of approximately 400,000 ounces for 2023 from its Bibiani and Chirano mines in Ghana.
Based on world market prices of US$1,929.02 per ounce as of January 19, 2023, this would result in revenue of US$771.6m.
The company has seen a significant increase in gold production in November and December 2022, with an average monthly production increase of 20.7% from its Bibiani and Chirano mines compared to the prior two months.
This, combined with the continued success at the Walsh Pit at the Bibiani Mine, has led to plans to increase planned production from the pit to more than 100,000 ounces from 20,000 ounces.
Asante Gold’s CEO, Dave Anthony, stated that the production gains bode well for the company’s target of 400,000 ounces for the fiscal year ending January 31, 2024, and that the company will continue to focus on exploration and expanding operations.
