Leadership of the Ghana National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GNCCI), says it is deeply saddened by the death of former president Jerry John Rawlings.
President of the GNCCI, Clement Osei-Amoako, in a letter expressing the grief felt by Ghana’s business community, conveyed its condolences to the family of the late former president.
Mr Osei-Amoako in the letter stated that Mr Rawlings devoted most of his life to fighting corruption and teaching the ethos of transparency, probity and accountability, all which are crucial to the thriving of the private sector and continuous development of the country.
He further described the late former president as the “champion” of Ghana’s now democratic governance and liberal economic model which has increasingly placed the business community at the heart of equitable distribution of wealth.
