The Government of Ghana (GoG) has threatened to fine airlines that fail to comply with the compulsory Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test for passengers.
According to government, airlines that board passengers without PCR test results or transport and disembark passengers with positive PCR test results at the Kotoka International Airport (KIA) will be fined US$ 3,500 per passenger.
The new directive which took effect from Tuesday, September 22, is contained in the updated Covid-19 guidelines of the airport.
Meanwhile, some 16 airlines have resumed flight operations since the reopening of KIA on September 1, 2020.
