GPL: Hearts of Oak win as Gladson Awako scores on his debut
Hearts of Oak recorded their very first win of the Ghana Premier League season after a slim win over Elmina Sharks FC at the Nduom Sports Complex on Wednesday.
It was a dream debut for Gladson Awako as his majestic strike from just outside the 18 yard box made the difference for the Phobians who recorded a 1-0 all important win.
Elmina Sharks came into the game with three changes to the squad that were beaten 1-0 by King Faisal Babes last Sunday in Kumasi with Ebenezer Adu-Kwaw Boadi and Osuman Awudu coming in to replace captain Ishmael Hammond and Daniel Nii Adjei.
Hearts welcomed back first choice goalkeeper Richard Attah and Mohammed Alhassan after recovering from a sickness which ruled him out in their outing in the CAF Confederation Cup play offs and the latter from suspension.

Late on, Hearts were also reduced to 10 men after Salifu Ibrahim was cautioned for the second time in the game.
Hrarts of Oak have moved out of the bottom of the table with three games in hand.
