GPL Matchweek 33 Wrap: Asante Kotoko crowned champions; Great Olympics humble Hearts of Oak

Hearts of Oak recorded their heaviest loss this season as Great Olympics completed their Ghana Premier League double over their city rivals with a resounding 3-0 win on Sunday at the Accra Sports Stadium.

AshantiGold continued their fine run of games as they came from behind to win by 2-1 against third place Bechem United. Emmanuel Avornyo opened the scoring for the Hunters but Josaiah Andoh restored parity and Osei wrapped things up for the Miners who have been demoted to Division Two after being found of match manipulation.
Elsewhere, RTU beat King Faisal 1-0 to move one step closer to avoiding relegation. Ronald Frimpong scored almost immediately after the halftime break to secure the victory and put RTU in a good position ahead of the season finale.
They have climbed out of the relegation zone, and a victory over Hearts of Oak next week will ensure their place in the top flight next season.
In Tarkwa, Vincent Atinga was on target once again as Medeama produced a comeback win against Accra Lions.
Legon Cities and Karela United drew goalless, and WAFA defeated Eleven Wonders 1-0 in Sogakope.
With the last round of matches to go, there will be all to play for relegation threatened teams King Faisal, Eleven Wonders and Real Tamale United with Hearts of Oak, Karela and Olympics also eyeing a top four finish.
