Power transmission company, Ghana Grid Company Limited (GRIDCo) has said it has no intention of embarking on a nationwide power load shedding programme.
The assertion by the company, follows heightened perceptions of impending nationwide power cuts.
According to a press release dated March 31 and issued by GRIDCo, the recent power cuts experienced in parts of Accra and Winneba, are due to ongoing key projects aimed at enhancing power supply and reliability to the Greater Accra Region.
Adding the power outages are not nationwide but only affects parts of Accra and Winneba.
“GRIDCo is working with ECG, MiDA and other stakeholders to ensure minimum impact on customers in the affected areas,” read the statement.
“GRIDCo is assuring all Ghanaians that there is a concerted effort by all stakeholders led by the Energy Ministry to ensure consistent, accessible and reliable power supply at all times,” the statement further read.
