GSE-CI remains flat; closes at 2,461 points on Tuesday

The Ghana Stock Exchange Composite Index (GSE-CI) remained flat to close trading at 2,461.71 points on Tuesday 0ctober 11, 2022, representing a YTD return of -11.75%.

The GSE Financial Stock Index (GSE-FSI)  also maintained its level to close at 2,070.46 points, translating  into a YTD return of-3.78%. 

Tuesday’s trading session ended with no price movements recorded as market capitalization of the GSE closed at GH¢64.46 billion. 

A total of 311,904 shares were traded across nineteen (19) counters. These trades cumulated in a turnover of GH¢16,222,157.13.

PBC Ltd. (PBC) emerged as the most traded stock at the close of trading and accounted for 48.41% of the  total volume traded whilst NewGold (GLD) accounted for  99.33% of the total value traded.

Summary of September market activities

Activities on the market remained high in volume, value and transactions over the same period last year.

Volume traded was  47,720,862 valued at GH¢51,992,322.29. Volume traded was up by  56.91%with value increasing by 22.65% compared with same period  last year.

Cumulative volume (1,280,374,211) and value  (GH¢1,289,252,215.60) traded for the year represent an increase of  219.61% and 213.61% over the same period last year.
