GSE: Stock market begins week with 3 gainers and 3 decliners

The Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE) begun the week with a loss of 6.29 points to close trading at 2,502.10 points.

The recorded loss translates into a year-to-date (YTD) returns of -10.30%.

The GSE Financial Stock also lost 1.07 points to begin the week at  2,077.78 points translating into a YTD returns of -3.44%.

The recorded losses in the benchmark GSE-CI and the GSE-FSI were due to the simultaneous gain and loss in six equities on the local bourse.

Access, SIC and BOPP emerged the gainers on the stock market recording 7 pesewas, 1 pesewa and 6 pesewas increment in share prices respectively.

The three equities that recorded losses in share prices and as such emerged decliners on the local bourse include: Enterprise, Ecobank Ghana Guinness Ghana.

The equities respectively lost 1 pesewa, 10 pesewas and 20 pesewas in share prices.

Market capitalization thus settled at GHS 64.42 billion for the day. 

A total of 9,078,241 shares valued at GH¢9,225,541.14 was traded on Monday. Compared with the previous GSE trading day (September 9), Monday’s data shows a 4851.37% increase in volume traded as well as a 4877.14% increase in trade turnover.

Scancom PLC (MTNGH) accounted for 85.07%  of the total value traded and recorded the largest volumes traded.
