GSE: Total volume traded rises by 739.64%

Total volume traded rises by 739.64%

The Ghana Stock Exchange saw a lackluster performance on the day with the benchmark index, the GSE-Composite Index, closing 9.90 points lower at 2,401.50 points and a year-to-date return of -1.74%.

The GSE Financial Stocks Index also saw a decline, closing 17.93 points lower at 2,018.12 points with a YTD return of -1.68%.

GCB Bank PLC was also affected by the downward trend, losing GH¢0.39 per share to close at GH¢3.51.

The market capitalization of the Exchange declined by 0.16% to reach GH¢64.22 billion.

Despite the general trend, there was an increase in the total volume traded, which rose 739.64% to 332,028 shares traded across 15 counters.

The total value traded also increased by 374.56% to GH¢115,716.71. SIC Insurance Company Ltd. was the most active with 316,352 shares traded and a value of GH¢98,069.12.
