Happy 87th Birthday to PRESEC & Father ODADEE

From humble beginnings at old Basel Mission buildings at Odumasi in 1938 to present Legon site in 1968 through an expansion into National Science College in 1975 headed by British Atomic physicist Prof Alan May, you have served Ghana well.

You have impacted Ghana’s socio economic, scientific and technological development in a way no other school come closer. In the last two decades, your Business and Arts students have even made inroads in Accounting and Law professions. The entrepreneurial acumen of your products have found expression in many Odadees running their own businesses and employing many.

The values of excellence, humility, honesty, hard work, integrity and discipline you imbued in your students equipped them for life. Today, they are natural leaders wherever they find themselves offering competent and decisive leadership.

We continue to derive inspiration from our Motto – Psalm 36:9 -[In Lumine Tuo Videbimus Lumen”, meaning “In Thy Light We Shall See Light”, ] same as that of famed Ivy League Columbia University. This choice of motto was informed by our admission that God Almighty, is the source of all strength.

Light illuminates, makes paths clearer and gives direction. Light exposes hidden things which we are to confront. Once our lives become Transparent and His Light shines FULLY in us, we become beacon of light to others.

On this occasion, we remember and pay glowing tributes to all tutors and faculty whose sacrifices brought Presec into being. Special mention must be made of Rev Nicholas Timothy Clerk whom on assumption of office as first Synod Clerk in 1918, fought relentlessly for the establishment of the school. Then the delegates of the Abetifi Synod of 1937 that voted by acclamation for the school to be established within 9 months.

We cannot forget founding Headmaster Engmann who took no salary, taught five subjects, conducted biology experiments in open shed using rats and motivated his staff to give their all. We also recognize our past alumni leadership- Odadee Nii Okai Okantey, Rev Markwei and present Global President Ernest Ofori- Sarpong for building our fraternity into a vibrant group.

We pride ourselves as Odadees; fully respected by all and sundry. Today, we have young boys yearning, desiring and praying to become students.

You have paid your dues. We continue to stand tall in the comity of schools. Fellow Odadees, please join me in wishing Presec Happy 87th Birthday,
