- Hearts of Oak Break Silence on Benjamin Asare Transfer Rumours After World Cup Breakthrough
Accra Hearts of Oak have firmly dismissed widespread reports claiming the club has placed a transfer valuation on goalkeeper Benjamin Asare following his outstanding performances for Ghana at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The Phobians, in an official statement released on Wednesday, July 15, described the reports circulating in sections of the media and across social media as false, insisting no asking price has been set for the Black Stars shot-stopper.
Speculation over Asare’s future has intensified since his impressive displays at the World Cup, where he emerged as one of Ghana’s standout performers. His commanding presence, crucial saves and composure under pressure played a key role in the Black Stars’ memorable run to the Round of 16, attracting interest from clubs both within Africa and abroad.
However, Hearts of Oak say claims suggesting the club has already fixed a transfer fee for the goalkeeper are completely inaccurate.
“The Club wishes to state, unequivocally, that these reports are false and without factual basis. Accra Hearts of Oak has not placed any valuation on Benjamin Asare and has not authorised any individual or media outlet to communicate a transfer fee or asking price on its behalf,” the club said.
Although the club rejected the reports, it acknowledged that it remains open to evaluating genuine offers should they arrive.
Hearts stressed that, as a professionally managed football club, it would consider any proposal that serves the interests of both the player and the club, but insisted no official valuation has been communicated at this stage.
“As a professionally run football club, Hearts of Oak remains open to receiving and considering offers that serve the best interests of both the player and the Club. However, no official valuation has been communicated at this time, and any figures currently in circulation are speculative.”
The Ghanaian giants also urged journalists, supporters and football stakeholders to disregard unverified transfer claims and rely only on official communication from the club.
“The Club urges the media, our supporters, stakeholders and the general public to disregard unverified reports regarding Benjamin Asare’s transfer value, and encourages all media organisations to confirm information through official Hearts of Oak channels prior to publication.”
Asare’s stock has risen considerably following his performances in North America, with the goalkeeper earning praise for several match-winning saves during Ghana’s World Cup campaign. His displays have fuelled speculation that a move abroad could be on the horizon before the start of the new season.
Despite the growing transfer interest, Hearts of Oak reaffirmed their pride in the goalkeeper’s achievements, congratulating him for representing both the club and Ghana with distinction on football’s biggest stage.
