I No Longer Care About Records – Cristiano Ronaldo
Cristiano Ronaldo has shared that he is no longer focused on being the world’s best player or chasing records. The 39-year-old Portuguese star emphasized his commitment to supporting his team and enjoying the game.
After Al-Nassr’s 2-1 victory against Al-Rayyan in the AFC Champions League, where he scored his 904th career goal, Ronaldo reflected on his shifting priorities. “It’s not important anymore whether I am the best or not; I no longer care about that,” he stated. “I’m used to breaking records and don’t seek them anymore. What matters most to me now is enjoying the game and helping Al-Nassr and my teammates win.”
Since joining Al-Nassr in January 2023 after leaving Manchester United, Ronaldo has made a significant impact on Saudi football, setting a new league record with 35 goals in the Saudi Pro League last season. His focus appears to have shifted from personal accomplishments to the success of his team.
Looking to the future, Ronaldo suggested that he might retire at Al-Nassr, saying in August, “I don’t know if I will retire soon, in two or three years, but probably I will retire here at Al-Nassr.” While he has contributed to Al-Nassr’s triumph in the 2023 Arab Club Champions Cup, he has yet to secure domestic or continental trophies with the club.
Despite this, the Portuguese icon aims to reach 1,000 career goals before he retires.
