Africa Trade Academy and FITT Launch Training Initiative to Enhance Africa’s Public and Private Sector Trade Competence

The Africa Trade Academy (ATA) and the Forum for International Trade Training (FITT) have partnered to provide professional training on trade in Africa for the continent’s public and private sectors.

The training partnership between ATA and FITT is aimed at building the capacity of public and private sectors to take advantage of national, regional, continental, and global trade opportunities.

Speaking at the launch of the partnership between ATA and FITT on Thursday, November 21, 2024, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of ATA, Dode Seidu, quipped the training will help both the public and private sector overcome the many challenges associated with trading on the African continent.

“We have set out as an organization to build the capacity of public and private sectors to be able to help them overcome the challenges of trade by knowing more and knowing better so that the continent’s public and private sector does not lag behind,” he quipped.

Also speaking at the launch was the President of FITT, Caroline Tomkins, expressing excitement over the collaboration with ATA quipped the partnership holds immense potential for Africa’s business community.

“The training by ATA and FITT will bring to Africa’s business community a wealth of knowledge, diverse perspectives, and shared aspirations of building the capacity of both public and private sectors to support trade competitiveness,” she averred.

The training partnership between ATA and FITT implies the acquisition of FITT Certification and Diploma in International Trade and access to FITTskills workshops.

The FITT Certifications help individuals earn a competitive advantage within the trade industry, build credibility with clients, and colleagues, and help land new jobs and promotions.

The Certifications also recognize individuals’ commitment to global trade as a profession, dedication to ethical business practices, and ongoing professional development.

Africa Trade Academy

The Africa Trade Academy (ATA) is a Pan-African training institution with a mission to build the capacity of Africa’s public and private sectors to take advantage of national, regional, continental, and global trade opportunities.

ATA designs and delivers tailored and practical training that empowers the business and government sectors in Africa, making trade a strategic role and the engine of Africa’s economic development.

Forum for International Trade Training

The Forum for International Trade Training (FITT) is a not-for-profit organization that offers international business training, resources, and professional certification to individuals and businesses.

FITT offers the FITTskills international trade training programme, which comprises six courses. FITT delivers the FITTskills curriculum through a network of global, accredited delivery partners.

FITT offers the Certified International Trade Professional (CITP) designation or FITT International Business Professional (FIBP) designation.

CITP/FIBP is the world’s leading professional designation for global business practitioners.
