SIC posts 162% year-to-date gain on local bourse

Share price of SIC Insurance Limited (SIC) appreciated by 5 percentage points at close of trading on Tuesday, March 22, 2021.

The share price appreciation of SIC on the local bourse on Tuesday marked a year-to-date appreciation of 162 percent for the stock.

Out of 13 equities that participated in trading on Tuesday, SIC emerged the sole gainer, posting a closing stock price of GHS 0.21 from the opening stock price of GHS 0.20.

The benchmark GSE-CI on the back of the gain in SIC recorded gains of 0.18 points on the day to close at 2,739.41 representing a YTD return of -1.79%.

The GSE Financial Stock Index (GSE-FSI) also gained 0.34 points to close trading at 2,168.72 representing a YTD return  of 0.78%. .

Market capitalization of the local bourse closed trading at GHS 63.99 billion. 

A total of 947,465 shares valued at GHS 2,217,902.14 were traded compared to 142,025 shares valued at GHS 172,244.97 which changed  hands yesterday, March 21, 2022. 

Guinness Ghana Breweries PLC. (GGBL) at close of market traded the  most, accounting for 85.01% of the total value traded.
