The Kotoka International Airport (KIA) has tested some 30,564 flight passengers entering the country for Covid-19 since its reopening on September 1.
Out of the 30,564 passengers tested, 92 were found to be carrying the virus.
This was disclosed by the President Akufo-Addo during his eighteenth (18) televised state of the nation address on Sunday, October 18 on measures being put in place by Government to mitigate the adverse impacts of the pandemic on the country.
Speaking further, the president reiterated Government’s stance to demand for the 3 days mandatory Covid-19 testing by passengers prior to boarding flights with Ghana as their destination.
According to the president, Ghana’s active Covid-19 case load as at Friday, October 16, stood at 398 with 46,664 recorded recoveries putting Ghana’s recovery rate at 98.5 per cent.
Total tests conducted nationwide amount to 510,074, with some 310 Ghanaians having lost their lives through the pandemic.
