Kumasi Asante Kotoko start the season on a high after 3-1 win over Dreams FC
Asante Kotoko had a dream start to the 2021/2022 Ghana Premier League season as they came from behind late in the game to secure a 3-1 win over Dreams FC in a four-goal thriller at the Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
After a goalless first half, wonderkid Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, who is on loan from Steadfast FC, opened the scoring with an emphatic solo goal just after the hour mark.
He tossed and turned, beating an army of Kotoko players before pacing the ball over Razak Abalora to hand Dreams FC the lead on the 63rd minute.
Kotoko then showed why they are tipped as favourites for this season’s trophy as they fought back with goals from Salifu Mudasiru, Isaac Oppong and Richmond Lamptey securing the three points.

Salifu Mudasiru scored the equaliser with 5 minutes left on the clock after hitting the ball through the legs of Solomon Abasi.
Prosper Narteh Ogum and his charges then turned the game on its head with Isaac Oppong and Richmond Lamptey scoring two quick goals very late in the game to seal the win.
Asante Kotoko will finally play at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium after a long season out and will play hosts to Bechem United next while Dreams FC travel to Cape Coast to face Elmina Sharks.
