Kumasi to host MTN FA Cup final as GFA announce venues for various flagship competitions
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has announced that the final of the 2022 FA Cup will take place in Kumasi, the capital of the Ashanti Region as the competition enters it’s quaterfinals stage on Wednesday and Thursday.
Defending champions Hearts of Oak will go head to head with Division One League Super Cup champions Skyy FC om Thursday at the Accra Sports Stadium as they look to find their place to the semifinals to defend their title.
The FA Cup will be of importance as the winner gets to represent Ghana at the 2022/2023 Confederation Cup.
The FA also announced the venues for a number of other local competitions including the Division One League Super Cup, the Women’s Premier Cup amongst others.
This season’s Women’s Premier Super Cup will be played in the Northern Region.
The Ashanti Region will also host the KGL Inter-Regional Challenge Cup.
After the Inter-Regional Challenge Cup is completed the teams that qualify will play in the KGPL inter-club U-17 Champions League in the Greater Accra Region.
The GFA, however, did not state which stadiums the various competitions in the named regions will be held.
