  • Liverpool-Man City, Liverpool-Arsenal Headline October-November Premier League Schedule

Liverpool’s home clashes with Manchester City and defending champions Arsenal will headline Sky Sports’ latest batch of live Premier League selections after 25 fixtures were rearranged across October and early November.

The first major showdown will come on Sunday, October 11, when Liverpool host Manchester City at Anfield at 4.30pm, one of five matches moved from their original slots across that weekend.

Manchester United’s meeting with Tottenham Hotspur will also be shown by Sky Sports a day earlier at 5.30pm, while Arsenal’s home game against Leeds United has been selected by TNT Sports for the Saturday lunchtime slot.

Liverpool will then return to the Sunday 4.30pm spotlight on November 1, when Arsenal visit Anfield in one of the most consequential early-season fixtures between two clubs expected to feature prominently in the title race. Arsenal enter the new campaign as defending champions, while Liverpool are beginning a new era under Andoni Iraola following a significant managerial transition at Anfield.

The scheduling gives Liverpool a particularly demanding October. After hosting Manchester City, the Reds travel to Brentford before welcoming Brighton, then finish the month with Arsenal at Anfield, a sequence that could provide an early measure of whether their rebuilt side can stay in touch with the leading contenders.

Manchester United will also feature heavily in the revised television schedule, with four of their matches moved. Michael Carrick’s side host Tottenham on October 10, travel to Leeds United on Sunday, October 18 at 2pm, face Bournemouth at Old Trafford on October 25 and then visit Chelsea on October 31.

The Leeds-Manchester United fixture is one of the more notable additions because it restores one of English football’s fiercest rivalries to a prominent television slot. The game at Elland Road will be broadcast live on Sky Sports at 2pm, preceding Nottingham Forest’s meeting with Arsenal at 4.30pm on the same Sunday.

The October 24-25 weekend will feature another cluster of high-profile fixtures, including Chelsea against Tottenham on Sky Sports at 5.30pm on Saturday and Sunderland against Leeds at 4.30pm on Sunday.

Aston Villa’s home game against Manchester City is scheduled for the Saturday lunchtime slot on TNT Sports, although the fixture could move to 8pm depending on Villa’s Champions League commitments.

Television scheduling is becoming increasingly complicated because nine Premier League clubs are competing in UEFA competitions this season. The Premier League has already warned that participation in European tournaments can force shorter-notice domestic changes, particularly when Thursday-night fixtures require Sunday recovery periods.

That explains why Bournemouth, Sunderland and Crystal Palace are among clubs shifted into Sunday slots during the October programme. The broadcast schedule must increasingly accommodate not only domestic television requirements but Champions League, Europa League and Conference League participation, adding another layer of complexity for clubs and supporters arranging travel.

Sky Sports remains the dominant domestic broadcaster under the league’s current four-year television agreements, with a minimum of 215 Premier League matches available on the platform during each season, while TNT Sports holds rights to 52.

For the leading clubs, the selections also ensure several potentially important title and European qualification contests receive prime broadcast exposure. Liverpool-Manchester City and Liverpool-Arsenal stand out because they bring together three of the clubs carrying the highest expectations into the campaign, while Manchester United’s run against Tottenham, Leeds and Chelsea could offer an early indication of their progress under Carrick.

The changes also underline the commercial importance of the league’s biggest fixtures. Premium Sunday afternoon and Saturday evening slots remain valuable television windows because they maximise audiences in the UK while also allowing international broadcasters to showcase major matches across multiple markets.

Supporters will nevertheless continue to face the practical consequences of fixture movement, particularly those travelling long distances or arranging accommodation around provisional Saturday kick-offs. The Premier League says it aims to give at least six weeks’ notice for changes up to the end of the calendar year, although European competition can still force later adjustments.

For now, the October and early-November schedule provides greater certainty around some of the first major tests of the 2026/27 campaign. Liverpool’s successive heavyweight home assignments against Manchester City and Arsenal, combined with Manchester United’s intense run of televised fixtures, ensure the season’s first decisive stretch will play out prominently on live television.
