The market exhibited contrasting dynamics this week as trading volume plunged by 22.44% compared to the previous period, yet the total value traded surged by an extraordinary 514.03%.
Leading the gainers, GLD advanced GH¢6.60 to close at GH¢382.60, while BOPP rose GH¢1.90, settling at GH¢25.00.
ALLGH also saw an uptick of GH¢0.15, ending the week at GH¢6.15. Notably, GLD dominated both trading volume and value, amid a week of heightened volatility in its price.
As the market looks ahead, investors are keenly awaiting MTNGH’s interim dividend payment, scheduled for Friday, September 6th, 2024, which could impact trading activity in the coming week.
Meanwhile, the GSE Composite Index concluded the week at 4359.85 points, reflecting a year-to-date gain of 39.28%, up slightly from 39.08% the previous week.
