Maurice Revello Tournament: Black Satellites lose 1-0 to Mexico in first game
The Black Satellites of Ghana lost 1-0 to Mexico in the opening game of the Maurice Revello tournament at the Stade de Municipal de Lattre de Tassigny on Monday.
Victor Guzman scored an 83rd-minute goal to ensure the Mexicans edged the Satellites as Karim Zito’s men lost their first game of the tournament.
The Black Satellites despite the defeat were impressive on the day as they were denied on multiple occasions by the safe pair of hands of the Mexican goalkeeper, Hector Holguun.
In a fairly balanced game, Mexico snatched the late winner to ensure they kept in touch with Venezuela at the top of Group B.
Venezuela beat Indonesia through a Daniel Perez 69th minute strike.
The Black Satellites will take on Indonesia in the second group game on Thursday, June 2, 2022 before playing Venezuela in the final game on Sunday, June 5, 2022.
