MobileMoney Fintech Suspends Some MoMo SIMs Amid Compliance Checks

MobileMoney Fintech LTD has announced a temporary deactivation of SIM cards associated with some mobile money users, as it carries out routine verification exercises on its MoMo Agent platform.

The company indicated that the move is part of ongoing measures to enhance system security and ensure full compliance with regulatory standards.

In a statement, MobileMoney Fintech LTD explained that the review process has led to different levels of penalties for agents found to have violated operational rules.

“Agents identified with minor infractions will be issued warnings; those with moderate breaches will have their accounts suspended; while agents involved in severe violations will face permanent termination,” the company stated.

It further noted that it has engaged affected agents and, where necessary, reinstated certain accounts while investigations are still underway.

The firm emphasised that the actions are intended to safeguard customers, protect the integrity of the MoMo Agent platform, and sustain confidence within the agent network.
