Mohammed Salah equals Didier Drogba’s Premier League goal scoring record
Mohamed Salah equalled Didier Drogba’s record as the highest-scoring African player in the Premier League after scoring an outstanding goal against Watford.
The two-time African Footballer of the Year scored his 104th league goal by extending the lead for Jurgen Klopp’s side to 4-0.
Mohamed Salah became only the second African player in the history of the Premier League to reach 100 top-flight goals when he netted against Leeds United on Sunday, 19th September 2021.
Mo Salah already has his name written in the good books of Liverpool’s history, striking 102 of his 104 Premier League goals for the Reds in just 152 matches and arguably becomes Africa’s greatest ever export to English football.
After moving to Liverpool from AS Roma, the Egyptian King has scored 22, 32, 19 and 22 goals in the past four seasons winning 2 top scorer awards and still remains one of the favourites to win this season’s top scorer award.

But with 10 goals in 10 games this season, Salah has proved his huge value to Liverpool, who will surely bow to his wish to be paid alongside the Premier League’s highest earners.
For the first time in his career, Salah has scored in eight successive top-flight matches.
Salah’s breathtaking goal stole the headlines on a day when Firmino scored his first Liverpool hattrick since 2018 in his first start for five league games.
It was also a memorable afternoon for Senegal forward Sadio Mane, who also became only the third African player after Salah and Didier Drogba to reach a century of Premier League goals.
The Reds are the first English top-flight side to score three or more goals in seven consecutive away games in all competition and still remain on top of the Premier League.
