MTN Ghana has reviewed upwards the cost of its data and talk time to reflect the 1 percent Covid-19 Health Recovery Levy imposed on businesses by government.
This follows the implementation of the new levy which takes effect on Saturday, May 1, 2021.
The telecom giant in the a press release noted that, the adjustment in the cost of its data and talk time also takes effect on Saturday, May 1, 2021.
“MTN Ghana wishes to inform you that following the introduction of the COVID-19 Health Recovery Levy, which has resulted in a 1% increase in the National Health Insurance Levy, talk time and data charges have been adjusted to reflect the tax change,” read part of the press release.
The Covid-19 recovery levy imposed on the supply of goods and services of imports, is to raise revenue to support Covid-19 expenditure by government and its related matters.
