MTN announces upward tariff review effective November 28
Telecommunications giant MTN has officially informed its subscribers of an upcoming tariff review scheduled to take effect from Tuesday, November 28, 2023. In a text message sent to customers, the company cited increased operational costs as the reason for the upward revision in the prices of MTN products.
The message reads, “Dear Valued Customer, kindly be informed that effective 28th November 2023, the prices of MTN products will be revised upwards due to increased operational costs. Continue enjoying our special offers on our network.” MTN further encouraged subscribers to visit its website, www.mtn.com.gh, for more details.
It’s noteworthy that MTN had initially announced a 15% upward review of mobile data prices, slated for Monday, November 14, 2022. However, the implementation was later postponed, and the company assured customers of timely updates regarding the rescheduled implementation date.
Explaining the reason behind the proposed increment in data bundle prices, Noel Kojo-Ganson, the Chief Commercial Officer for MTN Ghana, attributed it to the current economic crisis impacting operational costs. Kojo-Ganson reassured customers that MTN recognizes the challenging times and is committed to offering convenience and flexibility in the purchase of data bundles.
He highlighted ongoing customer benefits, including the 50% bonus incentive on the MyMTN App and MoMo (valid for 7 days) for 4G customers. Additionally, Kojo-Ganson emphasized MTN’s commitment to investing USD 1 billion by 2025 to expand its network and enhance the overall customer experience in line with the Ambition 2025 strategy.
