MTN FA Cup: Bechem beat Aduana to set up final clash with Hearts of Oak
Bechem United recorded a 2-0 win over Aduana to secure a place in this season’s final with defending champions, Accra Hearts of Oak.
Kassim Mingle’s side had the perfect start to the game, after Emmanuel Avornyo got the opener in the sixteen minutes into the game.
The forward struck a low grounder from outside the area which went through the legs of an Aduana defender which eventually slipped past goalkeeper Joseph Addo.
Bechem doubled their lead in the 25th minute as in-form Augustine Okrah’s free-kick came off the inside of the cross bar and bounce over the goal line.
Bechem United superbly dealt with all the attacking threats of Aduana as they marched on to victory.
This is the first time since 2016 that Bechem United have made it to the finals of the MTN FA Cup, winning it on the first attempt in the 2015/2016 season where they defeated Okwahu United.
The final of the 2022 FA Cup will be played at Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi on 26 June 2022.
The winner of the competition will represent Ghana at the 2022/2023 CAF Confederation Cup preliminary qualifying round.
