MTN share price dips by 9.68%; closes trading session at Ghs 1.12

Share price of MTNGh fell by 9.68 percent to close trading session on Thursday at Ghs 1.12 pesewas.

The telecom giant begun Thursday’s trading session with an opening share price of Ghs 1.24 pesewas.

MTN emerged the sole decliner on the Ghana stock market as a result of the dip in its stock price.

In all, a total of 219,868 shares valued at GH¢545,646.68 was traded on Thursday with MTN accounting for 4,047 and Ghs 4,654 of total volume and value of shares traded.

Meanwhile, FanMilk Plc (FML) recorded the most trades in volume and value traded as it accounted for 38.49% and 96.6% of the total volume and total value traded respectively. 

FML continues to impress as it gained  GH¢0.21 pesewas to close at GH¢2.51 translating into a YTD return of  132.41%.

The benchmark GSE Composite Index (GSE-CI) at the end of Thursday’s trading session lost 138.59 points to close  at 2,675.79 translating into a YTD return of 37.81%.

The GSE Financial Stock  Index (GSE-FSI) however remained flat at 2,008.40 translating into a YTD  return of 12.66%.

Market capitalization of the local bourse at the close of market declined by GH¢1.4 billion to close trading at GH¢62.29 billion.
