The National Board of Small Scale Industries (NBSSI) under a certificate of urgency before Parliament, is soon to be converted into the Ghana Enterprises Agency.
The Ghana Enterprises Agency Bill, 2020 to be passed and serve as a replacement of the NBSSI, is to oversee, coordinate and promote the development of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).
In addition, the new Bill is to formalise the sector through the creation of a fund aimed at providing easy access to MSMEs.
Speaking to norvanreports, Deputy Minister for Trade and Industry, Robert Ahomka Lindsay, noted that the Ghana Enterprises Agency will be charged with executing the MSMEs strategy aimed at ensuring that MSMEs are properly supported and encouraged to play their full role in the Ghanaian economy.
Adding that, the Bill when passed will help accelerate the provision of private jobs in the country.
