NDC’s leadership shake-up: A move to rid of anti-Mahama elements?
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has undergone a reshuffle of its leadership in Parliament, with Casiel Ato Forson taking over as Minority Leader from Haruna Iddrisu.
Armah Kofi Buah has been appointed as the new Deputy Minority Leader, succeeding James Klutse Avedzi, while Kwame Agbodza has been named as the new Minority Whip, taking over from Muntaka Mubarak.
Ahmed Ibrahim and Comfort Doyo-Ghansah, however, have retained their positions as First and Second Deputy Whips respectively.
The move follows an announcement by National Chairman of the NDC, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, in March 2021 that the party was considering changes to its parliamentary leadership.
The reshuffle has been met with criticism from some quarters, with allegations that it is an attempt to remove individuals perceived as being anti-Mahama elements from their positions.
