NewGold, Scancom dominate trading on Ghana Stock Exchange
The Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE) Composite Index ended the trading session on a negative note, losing 2.60 points to close at 2,431.84 points.
This represents a year-to-date return of -0.49%. Similarly, the GSE Financial Stock Index dropped 1.09 points to close at 2,043.89 points, resulting in a year-to-date return of -0.42%.
Four equities, GLD, UNIL, CAL, and GOIL, recorded price declines, with GLD experiencing the largest loss at GH¢5.85.
Market capitalization for the day decreased by GH¢44.02 million to settle at GH¢64.51 billion.
A total of 55,356 shares valued at GH¢1,975,665.36 were traded on the day, which represents a significant improvement of 1422.89% in volume and 22866.42% in value compared to the previous trading session.
NewGold (GLD) accounted for the lion’s share of the total value traded, at 97.45%, while Scancom PLC (MTNGH) emerged as the most traded stock of the day.
