NSA Chairman Demands Otto Addo’s Immediate Dismissal After AFCON Debacle
Seth Panwum, chairman of the National Sports Authority, has demanded the immediate dismissal of Ghana’s head coach Otto Addo following the national team’s disappointing 2-1 defeat to Niger at the Accra Sports Stadium.
This loss marks Ghana’s first at home in 16 years and highlights a larger issue: the team’s failure to qualify for next year’s AFCON tournament.
In remarks made to Angel FM, Panwum stated, “Otto Addo must be sacked because he was given a performance contract and he has failed to perform.”
This defeat leaves Ghana with a historically poor record, finishing last in Group F with only three points, and completing the AFCON qualifying series without a single win.
The Ghana Football Association’s Executive Council is scheduled to review the team’s performance on Wednesday, although there are no indications that a decision on Addo’s future will be reached at that time.
